The Very Best of the Psycho Motel Radio Show

It's nearly time for Psycho Motel XV "Killers Clash Halloween Party" on the 3rd November with Zombina, Dick Limerick, Superfast Girlie Show and Jimmy Lightfoot. It's the first Psy Mo for quite a long time, and we've been getting nostalgic remembering the Psycho Motel Radio Show... A precursor to Psychomotelevision, and just the thing for Halloween scares, if you're scared of really stupid stuff...

Psy-Mo Band Breakout!!!

Evening Smurfs and Smurfettes... this is the thing! The Psycho Motel house-bands, El Toro! and Zombina and the Skeletones have just put up Bandcamp pages, where you can download all their stuff for cheap or free! So, uh... get on it!!!

Thanks to everyone who came to any of the PsyMo events so far this year. As you may have noticed, we're not doing anything at the moment... the LSS and Primitives shows kinda took it out of us, but we'll be back after the summer with some amazing rock n' roll surprises for ya!

Keep it PsyMo!

Psycho Motel Vol.1 (2010-2011) FREE COMPILATION!

At Psycho Motel IV: “Gods & Monsters Party”, shortly before the end of  Psy Mo’s residence at now mythical ‘creative space’ Don’t Drop the Dumbells, we compiled a killer mixtape featuring almost every band who had played at Psycho Motel to date! The night before the show, we burned as many copies as we could manage onto CD-R – hastily photocopied a bunch of sleeves (re-using Becky Boneshaker’s artwork from the very first Psy Mo poster) and handed them out on the door to anyone who would have ‘em…

The comp was jolly well received, of course, as it contained some fine and varied examples of dirty garage (Dick Venom, Kid Voodoo); dark psychedaelia (Black Moth, El Toro!); modern rockabilly (Raw Bones, X Ray Cat Trio); electro punk (Louis Lingg, Bad Taste Barbies); and the virtually unclassifiable (Long Finger Bandits, Phlegmings the Singin’ Bellboy); plus an exclusive, unreleased track from the mighty Zombina and the Skeletones, making it a perfect time-capsule of Psycho Motel’s first era (2010-2011)!

That was then, however, and this is most definitely now… Arrive early to Psy Mo XI: “Enchantment Under the Sea Dance” (Friday 30^th March at the Kazimier), and you’ll receive a FREE copy of Psycho Motel Vol.2 – “The Second Comping”, which will no doubt be twice the classic that the first volume was!

What’s that? You weren’t around in the ‘Dumbells’ days? Want to be able to pretend you were? Well, you’re in luck – as you can download the original Psycho Motel Vol.1 comp below…

Psycho Motel Vol.1

1. Phlegmings the Singin’ Bellboy – “Theme from Psycho Motel”

2. El Toro! – “No Doctor”

3. High School Massacre – “It’s Real”

4. Kid Voodoo – “Working on the 8^th Nerve”

5. X-Ray Cat Trio – “Hail Hail”

6. Black Moth – “The Articulate Dead”

7. Bad Taste Barbies – “Working Up a Sweat”

8. Louis Lingg and the Bombs – “R.E.V.O.L.T”

9. Long Finger Bandits – “Wish I Could Remember”

10. The Medicine Bow – “Scar on the Horizon”

11. Raw Bones – “Shame (Live)”

12. Dick Venom and the Terrortones – “Lily and the Killers”

13. Zombina and the Skeletones – “City of Ghosts (Preview)”
